1Q. Can I travel with my family or friends who wish to do other types of activities than I do?

A. Yes. We specialize in creating trips on request, so you can travel with your parents, children or with a group of friends! We can send you a quotation according to your needs: The amount of people, the type of activities, the number of meals a day, the transport from the airport, exit to some secret surf spots, etc ... To ensure a personalized treatment, these Stays are not made during the periods of surf trips or ecotourism trips planned in the official calendar. (See calendar 2016-2017.)

2Q. How is the purchase made?

A. If you make your purchase 60 days before the trip, you pay an advance of 30% of the total cost, using our shopping cart. Visa or MasterCard credit cards are accepted. 60 days before your trip, we will send you an email with a link to pay the rest of your trip (70% remaining) and from this date you will have 15 days to make the payment. A purchase made less than 60 days before the trip is paid in a single exhibition.

3Q. What happens if I pay late or want to cancel my trip?

A. In case of purchase of a package (surf or ecotourism), if you did not make your second payment 45 days before your trip, you will be charged an extra charge of $ 50 USD.

If you wish to cancel your trip, you have to do so by sending an email to info@vidasurfecotours.com .

The applicable cancellation charges are as follows:

  • 60 days and more before your trip: 30% deposit is non-refundable.
  • between day 59 and 45 before the trip: 75% of the cost of the trip is non-refundable.
  • 44 days or less before your trip: 100% of the cost of the trip is non-refundable.

Cancellation of services without accommodation:

  • 60 days and more before your trip: 30% deposit is non-refundable.
  • 59 days or less before the trip: no refund.
4Q. I have never surfed in my life. Can I learn during a surf trip?

Oh of course! Our surf lessons are fully customized, and our instructors have experience teaching both precipitants and intermediate and advanced surfers, ensuring rapid progress of your technique. In addition, Puerto Escondido has different points accessible to less than 15 minutes by car for all levels.

5Q. What is the temperature and the type of waves in Puerto Escondido?

A. Because of its beaches offering all levels of waves, you can surf all year in Puerto Escondido. The rainy season runs from June to October, and consists of sunny days mostly with clouds that bring the rains habitually during the evening. This season offers a much greener landscape compared to the dry season. In addition, it allows us to make some tours only available during this season, such as the river tubing or go to see the professional surfers on the beach of Zicatela, as the big wave station in Puerto Escondido corresponds to the rainy season. During this period, we usually surf classes at Carrizalillo beach. When we have smaller waves, we give classes at Punta de Zicatela. Well, depending on the swell, we look for the best beach to give surf lessons.

6Q: I will travel alone during a surf trip. What alternative do I have for accommodation?

A. If you are traveling alone, you have 3 accommodation alternatives:

  1. Single bedroom, which includes private bathroom and air conditioning.
  2. Bedroom consisting of 2 bunk beds, which you will share with new friends.
  3. Finally, you can request a double room, and in the event that another person traveling alone also requests to share their room, we will bring them together.
7Q: Do I need a visa to enter Mexico?

A. Canadian citizens, Americans and most EU countries do not need a visa to enter Mexico. Upon your entry into the country, the customs agent will give you a maximum period to be in Mexico, usually 6 months. 8Q. What vaccines are needed?

A. According to the Canadian government, it is recommended to receive the following vaccines to travel to Mexico: Gripa, hepatitis A and B, rabies and measles. We recommend that you go to a health travel center to make sure you get all the necessary vaccinations.

10Q. At what airport should I land?

There is an airport in Puerto Escondido (PXM), but the flights and timetables are limited, and they usually come from Mexico DF. In the case that you do not find flights to Puerto Escondido, we recommend booking flights to Huatulco (HUX) 1:30 from Puerto Escondido.

11Q. Are air tickets included? What is the best website to buy airline tickets?

A. Air tickets are not included in our packages. We suggest the following websites to buy your tickets: Skyscanner.com, Kayak.com and Flighthub.com. You can contact us if you need help searching.

12Q. How does transportation from the airport work?

With the purchase of an all inclusive package (surf or ecotourism), we offer free transportation to and from the airport of Puerto Escondido or Huatulco, as long as you arrive and depart on the same dates planned for such packages. Outside these dates, transportation from the airport is not included. Contact us if you plan to arrive before and / or leave after the planned dates or if you want the transport service and / or stay with us.

13Q. What is the ideal currency?

In place, the Mexican peso is used. We recommend to carry between 1000 and 1500 pesos as well as a debit or credit card to withdraw money at an ATM in the city if necessary.

14Q. Is there a minimum age for a surf trip?

A. Travelers under the age of 18 need the written consent of their parents or guardians.

15Q. Is it safe to travel to mexico?

A. The coast of Oaxaca is a safe place to travel. In addition, the guides, Antonio (of Mexican origin) know very well the area and how to travel safely. We give basic safety advice that allows to reduce the risks of problems.

16Q. What type of traveler's insurance should I buy?

A. We recommend getting insurance that covers accidents (health insurance) as well as expenses in case of cancellation of the trip. If you are surfing, make sure the insurance company covers surfing as an activity.
